“I confess, now that I’m back in school, there are now some expressions that I feel like I can’t use. Like, when you say you’re going to give something ‘the old college try’.

“I don’t know, it just makes me think of all those old episodes of Frasier where he always mentioned attending Harvard. Like, I say, ‘I don’t know, I could give it the old college try,’ and then someone else just explodes, you know? ‘WE KNOW, you’re in college, we get it!’ ‘No no, you don’t understand, I just mean—’ ‘Don’t understand?? Cos I didn’t go to COLLEGE, right?’

“I don’t know about you, but I feel like it’s a legitimate concern. I’ve actually stopped myself from saying it.”
