In praise of downtime.

There’s really very little like getting a lazy weekend from time to time… sleeping in, catching up on TV downloads, comics, tricking out my iPod, napping on the couch while Nicole is at work. Add to that the fact that my Strat is home for the first time in a while (home-recording starts soon) and you have the makings of a relaxed weekend.

Between overtime, volunteering, and visitation with Erica, I haven’t actually had a single day to myself in a few weeks. It’s amazing how much one’s batteries can be recharged. I only wish there was something I could do to ease things for Erica – my princess officially came down with the chicken pox a couple of days ago.

What is the five-year-old-girl equivalent of sleeping in and reading comics? Cos I have this feeling that if someone could only answer that for me, it could prove to be valuable information, indeed.
