Better than the rest.

I’ve been looking for this for a couple of days. Two nights ago I watched the Academy Awards, a custom I have gotten into over the past couple of years. However the show this year, hosted by Hugh Jackman, was better than any other I’ve ever seen.

He was funny, entertaining, and appropriately engaging, as a host should be. The telecast was not boring or stuffy at all, but quite the opposite; perhaps it was entirely to Hugh Jackman’s credit, but the show and all those involved seemed very fresh, laid back, and good-natured.

The video above is his opening for the show. He stated onstage that the Academy told him that there was no money for an opening montage song (featuring the films nominated for Best Picture), so he created one himself in his garage. I especially like the homemade look of the props that are used, it sells the whole concept. Enjoy.
