Today I traveled to Mississauga with Nicole to volunteer with fund raising for a local cause here in London that she works with. Being that it’s a Sunday in between my regular Erica visits, I had nothing else planned and agreed to invest the time when I was asked yesterday.

I have learned a few valuable things today, but one thing rings true in particular: volunteer work takes a very special person… especially when it involves such a direct and dependent interaction with complete strangers. Cos complete strangers are very dismissive, and it takes a thick skin to handle that.

Right now, I’m exhausted from being on my feet all day, but I’ll pick this up again soon. For now, that is all.

I’m with you about the dismissive strangers. Funny, isn’t it, how people can so quickly forget that you’ve VOLUNTEERED your own personal time and energy to be where ever it is you’re needed, to fill whatever needs must be filled.

    Keep on keepin’ on!
