“Remember some of the twisted logic we subscribed to as kids? I had a reminder as I was walking down the hall to my apartment recently… now, for whatever reason, my hallway of late has really smelled strongly of some sort of perfume. It’s been going on a few weeks, and with no clear indication as to why.

“And it got me thinking of this ‘chapter book’ I read as a kid, in which a bunch of kids made a smelly mess in their school, and desperate to cover it up, concluded that they needed to douse everything in perfume. Working with the logic that bad smell + good smell = no smell, they proceeded to make the situation worse.

“And that just worked to make me wonder what awful smell in the hallway incited the need for so much perfume… until I came to the conclusion that I’d really rather not know…”
