Fiona Apple, across the Universe.

This morning something happened to me that never has before: I laid around in bed with my family and watched a movie.

And I’m sure you’re thinking that’s not a big deal, but I’m talking about that stereotypical, almost fantastic, family-in-bed scenario… lounging around in bed late on the weekends, enjoying each other’s company and all. I got up this morning and made breakfast, and then after spending some time up we all curled up under the blankets in the bedroom and watched Pleasantville. Erica too, after asking that she watch her own movie out in the living room.

Even Sylvester came along and stretched out with us, and by the time the movie ended, I was surrounded by my family, gently sleeping; softly snoring redheads and a cat that wouldn’t move for being kicked off of my feet.

No matter what I might write or experience later, it’s been a great day.
