Cute call.
March 31, 2008“Hi, sweetheart, what are you doing?”
“I wanna feed Pistachio.”
“Feed Pistachio? That’s great. Do you love him?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah, he’s a really cute hamster.”
“Yeah, and there’s a cute Sylvester!”

“After the skits, some disgruntled parents complained that my scoring reflected my intellectual inability to comprehend the F.P.S. philosophy. I had to set them straight. I told them, hey, we don’t live in the future. We live in the real world, a world in which your kid’s a dork and you, apparently, haven’t figured out how extortion works. So, who’s the stupid one? You tell me.”

Bright Eyes - The First Day Of My Life
Thanks for inviting me home to spend the weekend with you, bella. I had a great weekend, and was just happy for being there.
Five more sleeps.

Buon compleanno, mia bella. Today is Nicole’s birthday, and I’m headed to Toronto for the weekend to spend it with her, her family, and some friends.
Check out this muxtape I made for her - I wanted to share with all of you a mix of a few of the songs that have a special meaning for her and I. Beyond that, I’ll see you all soon; I’m going home for the next 48 hours.

Paramore - That’s What You Get
The latest single by Paramore is one of my favourite tunes from their latest record, Riot! I’m not too sure what it is about the song, but I think it’s the verse structure; the vocals lay over the percussive guitar in a way I think is kind of different and cool.

Fall Out Boy feat. John Mayer - Beat It (Cover)
This was just released on Tuesday - it’s a bit of a teaser for the upcoming Fall Out Boy release, Live In Phoenix. Due next Tuesday, it’s a CD/DVD combo that features a live show recorded from the Honda Civic Tour from last year.
John Mayer scorches in with an insane guitar solo, and overall, this is sono fucking awesome. Anyone who attended the tour last Spring will remember the boys covering this tune, and this studio release just takes the roof off. Turn this one up.

Bens Brother - Stuttering
You probably heard this tune in that gum commercial like I did… maybe you don’t think it’s catchy and cool, but I kind of dig it. I admit though, I could see myself getting pretty sick of it pretty quick…

Inspired by Jake and Slava, I checked out Muxtape, the newest way online to assemble and share music playlists with your friends.
It began when I read this on Jake’s blog today, a message from the creator himself:
This is a great project, really easy to use and fall in love with. And the concept alone of something so versatile, so indiscriminate is impressive - a music playlist you can share with your friends, regardless of internet browsers or platforms, without having to download anything… it’s class all the way. Looks great, works great, and full of potential… thumbs way-the-fuck up.
Click on the banner image above to visit the muxtape I’ve created is a half hour’s worth of upbeat music I’ve blogged at length about on this site. A sort of greatest hits collection from some of the bands you’ve all seen me gush about for quite some time. Hope you check it out, and kudos again to Justin for all his hard work.

“I know that dieting sucks. I don’t like that I can’t eat like I used to. So I buy vegetables, force down fruit, bake my own goods, shit like that. Try as I might, though, I can’t resist getting the odd pizza or two cheeseburgers from McDonald’s.
“The solution? Fast food flavoured Jelly Bellys! They’ve nailed the flavour of toasted marshmallows, buttered popcorn… why not curly fries? Why not a New York pepperoni pizza? It’s the taste of the grease that I crave, definitely not the actual grease itself. All the poutine taste, none of the poutine guilt. Oh yeah…”

Here’s a little thing I like to do from time to time - take any block of text, regardless of how menial, and punch it into Altavista’s Babel Fish translator. Translate it into whatever language you like, then translate it back into English.
This is awesome, simply cos Babel Fish has to be the shittiest translator out there. The way it comes back to you in the end is purely ridiculous. And for even more fun, do it a second time! Use a different language. Mix it up. To illustrate my point, take the following story, from a msg I sent recently to Nicole:
So I get to this level where I’m defending myself against all these spiders… some big, some small. Personally, I’m a little freaked out. I’m no real fan of spiders to begin with, and this are hard to kill, getting in close, whatever.
So Buster buries his head in the crook of my arm as though to shield his eyes. Which I think is funny, sure, and I don’t make anything of it. But then, a minute ago, I decided to get up, get ready for bed and all, and look down at him lying this way. I don’t really want to disturb him, but I can’t help it, so I move the arm in question to wake him up.
Without missing a beat, he immediately starts licking his paw and cleaning his face some, as though to say something like, “nah, dude, I wasn’t scared, that’s just how I do this. What?”
Pretty straightforward, cute anecdote. Now, apply the Babel Fish procedure, and we get this:
Therefore I obtain to this level in which I am defending against all these spiders… some large one, some small. Personally, they are a small freaked outside. They are fan real of the spiders to begin with and this is hard to kill, obtaining in the end, any.
Therefore the phenomenon buries the its head in the truffatore of my arm like if in order protect its eyes. Which task is amusing, sure and I do not make null of it. But then, a minute makes, has decided to raise itself, to obtain aspects for the base and all and watches he down that this sense is found. I really do not wish to disturb it, but I cannot help it, so as to I move the arm in issue in order to wake up it in on.
Without to lack a beat, immediately it begins to leccare its paw and cleaning up its face some, like if saying something it appreciate, “nah, tizio, have not been scared, that it is right as I make this. That what “
Amazing!! I rest my case.
